Solis Surgical Arts Center is a State licensed, Medicare certified free-standing ambulatory surgery center. It is equipped to deliver all levels of sedation and general anesthesia for any dental and oral surgery procedure.
Over 1,000 anesthetics are administered each year to patients in this 2 operating room with a three bed recovery room facility.
The operating rooms are very large which allows easy movement and observation during cases.
This is a working facility that is supported by the practice of Dr. Gottschalk, Dr. Lee, and outside practicing general dentists and specialists. We treat a very wide range of patients from healthy to very medically compromised individuals. Procedures range from simple dentistry to complex implant placement and bone grafting.

Incorporating intravenous sedation into your practice will allow you to treat more patients, schedule longer appointments, and perform more difficult procedures.
In the competitive world of dentistry, patients are seeking practitioners who can offer sedation so that they can be comfortable and “pain free” for their dental procedures.
You can not offer intravenous sedation unless you are properly trained and licensed to do so.
At Solis Surgical Arts Center, our course will provide you with the tools to confidently deliver a safely administered sedation.

A technique course for generalists and specialists who administer sedation or general anesthesia, in their offices, featuring hands-on experience with patients in a surgery center.
The course will include:
Monday– lecture,clinical observation, venipuncture
Tuesday– lecture, venipuncture, airway management
Wednesday– lecture, airway management, venipuncture, advanced sedation techniques
Thursday- managing anesthesia cases with instruction
Friday- independently managing cases from pre-operative evaluation to discharge

Advanced airway management skills are critical for delivering all levels of sedation or general anesthesia. You will learn and experience unconscious airway management, place airway adjuncts, laryngeal mask airway placement, and endotrachael intubation.
The course will include:
Monday - Friday
There will never be more that 2 attendees per faculty member
This is a hands on course with actual, clinical management of anesthetized patients
The first day is 2.5 hours of lecture, 2.5 hours of clinical observation, and 2 hours of emergency scenerios. Day 2 is an optional additional experience of hands on clinically managing patient airways on live patients.
Day 1 - Lecture and observation of clinical cases of airway management and venipuncture, followed by management of emergency scenerios.
Day 2 - Hands on clinical management of the unconscious airway and venipuncture on live patients. Each attendee will receive clinical experience on a live patient.

This is a 4 day course that in addition to advanced airway management, it emphasizes training in the use of the flexible LMA, capnography, and use of the infusion pump. These techniques will make the administration of anesthesia in an oral surgeon's office setting much easier so that more attention can be directed to the surgical procedure.

Doctors may enroll up to 2 registered dental assistants. Your assistants will be trained to record vital signs, place monitoring equipment, and assist with airway management. As a part of the “sedation team,” assistants are also taught what to do in an emergency.

Attendees that have completed residency training in anesthesiology, nurse anesthetists, and graduates of our advanced IV sedation and general anesthesia program that want to refine their skills and raise their confidence levels in the administration of anesthesia for dentistry.
